What we really Fear...

Posted on April 10, 2009 at 3:50 PM

The following is often quoted by Marianne Williamson ,,,,one of my favorites...please share your comments..

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that fightens us most.

We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and famous?"

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people wont feel insecure around you.

We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It is not just in some of us; it is in all of us.

And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others"

W.E.B. DuBois (author)

I resonate with a lot of this. I remember as a child before becoming a teenager, feeling embarrassed about how good I was at things I would try. Then as a teen, I became afraid to try and find that I couldn't do things well anymore. It took until my mid twenties to find the courage to ask that part of me to shine again. And how it can project to those around us. Great words.
